You're better off using the Nero 6 Burning Rom with more features and options. These red factory OEM disks can be purchased for less than 10 bucks on line. The series has compatability problems with Win. XP Service Pack 2 systems. Free updates are available at most warez sites like

Try using the older Nero if you have and older CD burner or an earlier Windows platform. The P2P services are full of serials for these. Free SHN and FLAC plugins exist for the above programs.

This is probably the best version for music and much lighter on system resources. A fully installed Nero CD/DVD program is less than 75 MBs in size. The Nero Vision Express is a seperate installation, and not needed if you're just doing music.

Nero Express is mostly for copying CD to CD or making quickies. You don't get to use many of the editing features, that are useful with live shows.

And stay away from the new Nero 7 series, as it still has too many bugs and a lot of useless programs that you'll never use...

I used the Nero 6's simply not working at the lower speeds like 24X or 16X(or any now). It will stall, then I cannot close it out or even "Stop" the burn. Cannot even turn off my PC the normal way, when its up there.
My free Musicmatch burner still works great (at @ 8X), just takes alot longer. I don't think its my PC.....still, I am an ungeek at computers.
the etree forum is no help yet either
gotta add this edit- It was working great until that fateful day I tried a slower speed.....yet slow works fine with Musicmatch....ohwell

Just curious Rastamon but why would one use a slower speed?
